Welcome to the SEA BEYOND Ocean Literacy Centre, a dynamic space in the Venetian Lagoon co-designed by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) and CRA - Carlo Ratti Associati. Inaugurated in 2025 by the Prada Group and UNESCO-IOC, the centre is dedicated to fostering knowledge and understanding of the ocean, raising awareness of its fundamental role for life on Earth.
The initiative is promoted as part of SEA BEYOND, a project by Prada Group conducted in partnership with UNESCO-IOC since 2019 to raise awareness of sustainability and ocean preservation among younger generations.
At the Centre you can immerse yourself in exhibitions and interactive workshops that illustrate how tides, currents and climate shape our planet, while discovering the extraordinary biodiversity that populates coastal and marine environments.

The Centre is located on the island of San Servolo, a cultural hub in the Venetian lagoon: a unique example of a ‘transitional ecosystem’ shaped by continuous interactions between land, sea and mankind.
The Centre can be reached by Ferry number 20 S.Marco/Zaccaria, which departs from the San Marco/Zaccaria station for San Servolo roughly once every 30 minutes.
We recommend the following boats from San Zaccaria to arrive on time for your tour:
9:20 boat for the 9:45 AM tour
10:30 boat for the 11:00 AM tour
13:50 boat for the 2:15 PM tour
